The French, British, and Belgians, plus many countries around the world wanted to punish Germany for their atrocities, the desolation of their nations, and demanded monetary repayment well over 100 Million marks (more in dollars of the early 20th century. They developed a treaty known as the Treaty of the Versailles or the Versailles Treaty. This treaty had 14 main points with many rules and points within each of those points. Germany was forced to give up their armed forces, the rebuilding of forces and armament. They signed the treaty mostly because they could no longer wage war. There people in Germany were starving, jobless and bankrupt. Millions of Germans, in particular Adolf Hitler (a mere corporal) were furious about the German leaders signing the treaty when they thought they were winning the Great War. The effects from the treaty did so much economic damage and political damage to the general populace the entire nation was in shambles both socially and being unable to survive. By 1929 there was so much political upheaval bad people were able to develop the Nazi Party (socialism, workers party). Hitler managed to get appointed into the Chancellor's position. He was appointed by their president (Hindenburg). When the president died he was able to take over the country and put his evil plans into effect. The general populace was deceived by him and fell for his charms because they believed he could bring them out of their national demise. He promised jobs, housing, food and medical care. They got it but at the price of living in oppression, fear of being killed and losing their freedoms.
World war 1 unfolded into World War two, after the allies created the Versailles Treaty, and made Germany pay over $20,000,000.00 in reparations to the allies, and were forced to divide their land. Germany was angered, so they found a new leader, Adolf Hitler, and they thought that he could bring their country back to glory. I hope this is what you were looking for!
Well, if I could bring you something this week, and you could bring me something next week, maybe after that we could just meet in the middle and...trade stuff.

Bring communism to China
Wilson ordered the democrats to vote " nay" for a version of the treaty requiring a joint resolution from the House and the senate to join the League of Nations. :)
The Senate rejected the Treaty in March 19, 1920 President Wilson did sign the Treaty of Versailles, but he had foolishly refused to bring Representatives and Senators, particularly Henry Cabot Lodge, the majority leader in the house. This may have biased the legislature against the treaty, but the main reason the U.S. did not agree to the Treaty of Versaille was not that they thought it was too harsh, it was that the League of Nations had become part of the treaty. The U.S. did not want its foreign policy decided by another body, so they rejected the treaty. There is a certain irony that the League of Nations was the addition that the legislatures disliked, as it was the only part of Wilson's 14 points to make it onto the Treaty.

is was a good one because President Wilson believed he could bring peace and justice with his fourteen Point plan.

American President, Woodrow Wilson, believed that the Treaty was too harsh. The 'Fourteen Points' he had drawn up (which were to be the foundations for a fair and just Treaty) were almost entirely omitted from the final Treaty, and Wilson believed that Germany - which had recently undergone revolution - needed to gain stability and establish its new government.
Before Woodrow Wilson was elected to the US presidency he believed that the Senate should play an intimate role in helping the US president to handle treaties. His views were clear and strong. After he became the US president however, he changed his mind. As president Wilson decided to look at his past statements as perhaps being too one sided on the issue of Senate cooperation. When WW 1 ended he took on his role as a negotiator of the Versailles Treaty with no contact with the US Senate. Wilson would find out that the Senate would make all his labors to bring nothing as the Senate by a wide margin voted against the Versailles Treaty.
