Some say that treaty that Germany was forced to sign at the end of WWI made WWII inevitable. They say that actually, WWII began on that day. I am sorry that I do not know more, but what is now Germany has had many wars through History. Of course, all of Europe is no stranger to war.
That is not to imply that any group of people is good or bad. Only to say that wars are nothing new, but please, let us learn to get along with each other. Including intelligent, fair and honest treaties.
The Military Industrial Complex makes fortunes off of them, but the rest of us need to work to avoid them. If you seek profit, learn that honest, helpful profit, is actually much better for everyone.

I have left the above answer for the sake of never discounting the opinions of fellow contributors. Here are the mandates of the Treaty of Versailles and with 20-20 hindsight it's clear that the mandates did not make WW2 inevitable, and that will be addressed after the mandates are listed.
1. The German army was not allowed to have more than 100,000 soldiers and no tanks were permitted, no warplanes, six naval vessels were allowed. No submarines were allowed.
1. The following was taken away from Germany as a results of the mandates in the Treaty of Versailles:
2. German Territories were ceded to other nations such as:
2a. France; Belgium; Denmark; Czechoslovakia; Poland & Russia.
2b. The League of Nations took over all of Germany's overseas colonies.
The Rhineland was to free of any German military forces.
Huge sums of money had to paid to the victorious Allies.
Important:
Up until at least 1938, the Allies had the power to enforce all of these mandates. They chose appeasement instead.
Most of the mandates were broken....
The military Industrial Complex had no roll in keeping France or England in or out of enforcing the mandates.
In a democracy, it's up to the people to vote for good candidates. The defense industries of any government are under the control of civilians.
Clearly these mandates were severe. There was little in conflicts because the Allies allowed the Nazi Party to break the mandates with hardly a whimper from them.
It didn't. Trade disputes played no part in the causes of WW 1.
AlliancesImperialismsmilitarismnationalismThese isms had a cause or led to world war 1.
There is a lot of criticism of WW1, however, one of the main fundemental criticisms often pointed out is that WW1 is the cause of WW2. As much as I would like to talk about this topic; I frankly cba!!
World War I significantly altered the world map by leading to the collapse of several empires, including the Austro-Hungarian, Ottoman, German, and Russian Empires. New nation-states emerged in Europe and the Middle East, such as Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia, while borders were redrawn, often without regard for ethnic or cultural divisions. The Treaty of Versailles and other peace agreements imposed territorial changes and mandates, reshaping global geopolitics and setting the stage for future conflicts.
He didn't. Darwin had no role in WW1, and had been dead for 32 years when the war started.
Yes, unresolved conflicts after WWI directly lead to WWII.
Mandates can lead to friction in intergovernmental relations because they can impede on the autonomy and decision-making powers of different levels of government. Conflicts may arise when mandates are seen as burdensome, costly, or not aligned with local needs and priorities. Additionally, differing interpretations of mandates and disagreements over responsibility for funding and implementation can strain relationships between levels of government.
Most colonies probably felt the same, except the German colonies had all become Mandates of the UK, France or Belgium.

Under the League of Nations, Britain and France administered territorial mandates in the Middle East. Britain was responsible for the mandates of Palestine and Transjordan, while France administered Syria and Lebanon. These mandates were established following World War I to govern former Ottoman territories until they could attain independence. The mandates were intended to prepare these regions for self-governance but often led to tensions and conflicts.
Bad ones.
Mandates were legal instruments established by the League of Nations after World War I, granting certain nations administrative control over territories deemed not yet ready for self-governance. In the Middle East, mandates particularly affected the region by creating artificial borders and governing structures, often disregarding ethnic, religious, and cultural lines, which led to lasting grievances. These impositions fostered nationalist movements and conflicts, as local populations sought independence and self-determination, contributing to ongoing tensions and instability in the region. The legacy of these mandates continues to influence contemporary political dynamics and conflicts in the Middle East.

The main cause of WW1 was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand.
