reason for that (in simple term's) is that Adolf Hitler, leader of Nazi Germany from 1934-1945 hated the Jews reason for this is unknown do to his suicide on April 30 1945.

It is widely known that the people of Germany did not know of the holocaust.

so in that sense no.

the people did not know of Hitler's "death camps" until the Allies forced them to look at the horrors.

BUT... it doesn't mean that Adolf Hitler didn't say that the Jews were to blame for the start of the war.

In fact it is also known that Adolf Hitler did not oversee the concentration camps but Adolf Himmler (also known as Heinrich Himmler) leader of the SS was.
