World history is commonly divided into several eras, including the Prehistoric Era, Ancient Era, Medieval Era, Early Modern Era, and Modern Era. The Prehistoric Era encompasses the time before written records, while the Ancient Era includes early civilizations like Mesopotamia and Egypt. The Medieval Era spans from the fall of the Roman Empire to the Renaissance, followed by the Early Modern Era, which features the rise of nation-states and global exploration. The Modern Era, beginning in the late 18th century, includes significant developments like industrialization, globalization, and contemporary events.
