The US , British , French and USSR .

Broadly, the main issue with the British economy after 1918 was that it relied on the British Empire, which therefore dragged many countries into the Second World War. For more information one can look at the Wikipedia article on this topic.
the british
Nobody controlled the British before WW2. They were self governed.
There were many countries that were controlled by Great Britain at the beginning of World War 1.
The USSR
Germany and Russia
None were controlled by the US. However America was allied with Serbia, Russia, Romania, France, Belgium, the British Empire and Italy. For colonies of the US, see the related link.
USA. I'm not sure which countries they still controlled after World War 2 but they held on to the Philippines for a couple of years before they left. And even then they still had some military presence in that country until the 90's. The British also held on to Hong Kong until their contract expired.
