well most say the reason why it collapsed was because of the son of Yang Jian, Yangdi, spent a lot of money on restoring and building things like the Grand Canal. He tried to invade Korea but did not succed and was burdened with national funds wich led to rebellion against the government. basically saying- essesive expenses associated with grandoise building projects and military campaigns.

Why did the sui dynasty fall?

Upon unifying China, the Sui dynasty attempted to establish dominance over all its neighbors and declare itself as the region's superpower. It managed to subjugate Japan, Vietnam, Tibet, and Southern Korea but Goguryeo (the most powerful of the three kingdoms of Korea) refused to acknowledge the Sui Dynasty's supremacy. This caused the Sui to invade Goguryeo resulting in the Goguryeo-Sui war. Goguryeo managed to defeat the Sui dynasty and after two failed invasions, the Sui dynasty failed economically which resulted in resentment of the Chinese people and ultimately the downfall of the dynasty. In essence, Goguryeo was the most significant factor contributing to the downfall of the Sui.

How was china being reunified by the Sui dynasty important?

China's reunification under the Sui Dynasty was important because this was the first Dynasty to regain control of China since the fall of the Han, and laid the groundwork for the Tang dynasty to rule for the next several hundred years. Not just that, but the Sui also finished the canal system that was being built in an effort to tame the Yellow River, which was a major economical boost, even though that was the Sui's ultimate downfall due to the cost of the project.
