When President Hindenburg retired,shortly after that, when he could not be challenged politically, has had himslef made as 'Der Fuhrer'. (The Leader). It was a combined position of President and Chancellor. NB I refer to him as 'Uncle Adolf' , because the British/American Armies loved him. They sent him loads of presents, that all went 'BANG!!!!!'.
