The treaty of Locarno was signed in 1925. The treaty of Locarno guaranteed that there were common boundaries of France, Germany, and Belgium.
It was called the 'Treaty of Versailles' and the US, Britain and France signed that treaty.

The provinces of Alsace and Lorraine were returned to France following World War I. It was done as part of the Treaty of Versailles in order to punish Germany.
Hitler defied the treaty and began rebuilding Germany's army anyway. Because the League of Nations didn't challenge them, Hitler then moved troops into the Rhineland, which was a buffer between Germany and France.

The Locarno Treaties of 1925 involved Germany voluntarily (re-)accepting its Western borders and its border with Czechoslovakia and agreeing not to attempt to change its border with Poland by force.
