Oh, dude, Louis XVI tried to flee France because he was like, "Peace out, I'm outta here!" He wanted to escape the whole French Revolution drama and probably catch some sunshine in Another Country. But, like, the dude got caught and ended up losing his head over it. Tough break, man.
He didn't react violent at all. As a matter of fact he reacted very apathically. The third estate wanted to overtrow the monarchy (thus, Louis XVI as their king), and since he was an execellent king, he was also a weak one. He did not resist. The only thing he did do, was try to flee the country, but he was captured.
Well, it wasn't exactly Austria they intended to flee too, their destination was the town of Montmedy, a town near the friendly border of Austrian Belgium (so Belgium, but at that time that country was owned by Austria). Unfortunately, they were arrested at a town called Varennes.
He knew that if he wouldn't, the monarchy would die for sure and he and his wife, Queen Marie Antoinette, would be dethroned. He wanted to try to get across the border in order to rescue the monarchy from dying so the throne would be saved. He also knew that if he wouldn't succeed, the monarchy would be slaughtered after all. He decided to take the risk after Marie Antoinette had begged him to do so.
The tried to escape from the Tuileries palace toMontmédy on the 21st of June 1791. They never reached Montmédy though, as they were caught in Varennes and brought back to Paris.
Oh, dude, Louis XVI finally agreed to summon the Estates-General because, like, France was in a bit of a pickle with all the financial issues and the whole French Revolution looming over his head. It was basically like hitting the panic button - "Oh no, things are getting messy, better call in the big guns." So, he was like, "Fine, let's bring in the Estates-General and see if they can help sort this mess out."
It had become apparent that their lives were in danger if they remained in France.
Yes, he attempted to flee France and nearly made it to the border, disguised, with his family, as a servant, but was caught and sent back to Paris.
Marie Antoinette did not have much influence over Louis XVI. However, she did play a large role in his deciding to try and flee the country (Flight to Varennes).
He never even went to Germany. He tried to flee FROM France TO the Austrian army, who were allied to the Prussians, who were German.

That was on June 20/21st 1791.
The tried to save their lives and the monarchy. The only way to do that, was to flee France, which unfortunately was not succesfull.

She herself didn't, but after her exile she joined her uncles Count Provence and Count D'Artois. These two brothers had always beenjealous of Louis XVI and even turned against him during the revolution betraying him. These brothers were the ones that tried to restore the monarchy after Louis XVI had died purely for selfish reasons: so they could become King of France. And they succeeded, although Louis XVI has the last real king of France, because D'Artois and Provence were only King in name, and had no real power anymore. Count Provence wanted Marie Therese to marry the son of Count D'Artois, and eventually she became Queen of France in 1830, but only for 20 minutes since she and her husband were abdicted by Louis-Philippe, duc d'Orléans.
