Why was there a revolution in France?

Well first the frenchrevolution is a rebellion of French people against their king in 1789. The French had attacked the Bastille, a fortress that they hated and a "prison that stood as a mighty symbol of royal power", and captured it. There were deep divisions in French society between the aristocracy (the nobility and the King) and the growing number of middle class people known as the third estate (doctors, lawyers, merchants, etc, essentially anyone who was educated, socially mobile, and increasingly wealthy).
