Jonas used the memory of sledding down a snowy hill for the first time and the memory of sunshine to help him and Gabe escape from the community. These memories provided him with guidance and comfort during their journey.
The Giver and Jonas' plan was to for Jonas to escape the community during the December Ceremony in a truck driving out of the community, but when Jonas learned that Gabe was going to be released, he decided to take him and escape that night, to save Gabe.
the giver and Jonas plan is to get Jonas and gabe to escape without anyone that wasn't the plan. The plan was for Jonas to escape DURING the December ceremony, however, the plan got messed up when Jonas found out that Gabriel was going to be released, so he escaped before they could release him.

Jonas gives people memories by running away so they can all go back to the community- for memories are forever. once he got memories, he has the ability to give them away to. he just followed what the giver did and gave some memories to Gabe.
Jonas was forced to leave the giver without saying goodbye because Gabe or Gabriel was going to be "released" in other words killed by the next day. Jonas had no choice but to escape with Gabe to save his life.

Gabe from "The Giver" has the ability to receive memories from Jonas, whereas Jonas has the ability to see beyond and experience deeper emotions. Both characters possess unique gifts that allow them to perceive the world differently from others.
Jonas referred to Gabe as his little brother because he formed a strong emotional bond with him while caring for him during their escape from the community in "The Giver." Jonas saw Gabe as family and felt responsible for protecting him, which deepened their connection.
Jonas strengthens Gabe by providing him with extra care and attention, comforting him when he is upset, and teaching him about the memories he has received. Everyone in the community everyone is the same, everyone is assigned a role, a place. The main character is Jonas. Jonas is a 12-year-old boy who is chosen to be the new Receiver. The Receiver is a very important person in the community who holds memories of history and wisdom. He holds the memories and wisdom to advise the elders. The Elders are the people that make decisions for the community There is also a Giver. The Giver gives the Receiver memories and wisdom. Jonas’s dad is a Nurture. A Nurture takes care of the new children, the Nurture also releases (kills) children that don’t fit into the society. Gabe is an infant, who the Nurtures have a hard time taking care of because he can't sleep through the night. Jonas’s family unit takes care of Gabe who sleeps in Jonas’s room. Even though Jonas isn't supposed to, he gives Gabe soothing memories to help him sleep. When Jonas gives Gabe memories Gabe falls asleep almost immediately.
