Who becomes leader when firestar dies?

It is likely that Brambleclaw will become leader after Firestar since Brambleclaw is currently the deputy. However, anything is possible.

Some possibilities for the new leader include:

1. Brambleclaw
2. Cinderheart
3. Lionblaze
4. Dovepaw
5. Graystripe
6. Cloudtail

There are many other possibilities as well.

Answer to above answer:

It has already been confirmed that Brambleclaw nor Greystripe will become leader after Firestar.

Another thing that I have noticed is that Erin Hunter never uses the same leader name twice. Example: The leader of Skyclan when they were forced to leave the forest was named Cloudstar, so Cloudtail well not become leader after firestar dies.

Lionblaze becoming clan leader is a posibility, and so is Cinderheart.

Also I know people keep asking is 'how many lives does firestar have left?'

He has 2 lives left at the end of fading echos, the second book of omen of the stars.

It has also been confirmed that Firestar is going to die at the end of the fourth series.

actually Brambleclaw will NOT become leader. In a recent chat with Erin Hunter she states that brambleclaw will never become leader and that some unexpected cat will become leader

It seems likely that it will be Brambleclaw because he is the current deputy of Thunderclan, but it is possible that he could die before Firestar, in which case it is likely that Graystripe would become the deputy, and possibly leader. There are other possibilites, but we won't know for sure until Firestar dies.

Presumably Brambleclaw, since he is deputy.

Also Graystripe is really old. He probably wont be leader, he'll become an elder first. Maybe.

Erin hunter has revealed that Brambleclaw will never be leader and that the new one will be someone unexpected. SPOILERS!!! Some say it will be Lionblaze, others Hollyleaf (since she was never confirmed dead), Dovewing(that's Dovepaw's warrior name), Graystripe, Cloudtail etc... But you'll never know with the Erins!

i have never heard erin's comments but according to the warrior code i think he will..................but if he doesn't it might be graystripe, or brackenfur, or squirrelflight, or (although i don't think this is possible) sandstorm

Brambleclaw will become leader. But I have heard rumers that brambleclaw will be banquished from Thunderclan, go blind and be retired,die in 2 months,stoped from being leader, so IDK.But its most certain to be Brambleclaw.

Brambleclaw would be the one to succeed Firestar currently, but in the rare occasion that Firestar would choose a different warrior just before his death like Tallstar chose Onestar (was Onewhisker), then obviously the cat chosen would be the leader. So the deputy ALMOST always succeeds the leader if the leader is incapable of continuing his leadership.

As of now, Brambleclaw is deputy, so if he is alive after Firestar loses his last life, he will be leader. But some rumors are going he won't make it. This person is sorta right Brambleclaw is not going to be Thunderclans leader he either dies because of the battle with dark forest cats led by the evil one aka Tigerstar but Brambleclaw does not become leader its either Lionblaze or Cinderheart i think hope that helped

Bramblestar. During the great battle, Firestar loses his last life due to wounds, leaving Bramblestar as the new leader of thunderclan.

After Firestar dies a tragic death, Brambleclaw is killed by Hawkfrost. Jayfeather recieves a sign from StarClan declaring that HOLLYLEAF will be the new Clan Leader!
