If you want to. They are more comfortable especially when it's hot. They have been worn a lot in the 80s-90s and it looked great. Just shave and take care of your legs.

Boys and girls legs are physically almost the same, except that girls shave more often. There's no reason only girls have to be comfortable when it's hot.

Yea!!!wear what you want!!....I wear them for scouts and whenever i want but always with white knee socks caus it looks deadly . I wear them to school as well. NEVER understand the problem with some people with this....wear what you want...who really cares anyway? Yea, sometime people say things to me but nothing bad. people wore this type of gear in the 70s and 80s and nobody cared..whats the big deal anyway? iv seen photos of people in the 70's and80's in short shorts and knee socks and it looked cool.i dont care what anyone says. iv worn cargo shorts and board shorts with white short socks and no one cares! if anyone has a problem with boys wearing short shorts then i think they need help...thats what i think!you may think this is a problem on my part but i can garrutee it i have a grandson 17 ive put him into shorts as punishment he was hanging about on street corners at de hill in there speak i know you arnt getting punished enjoy .

Beyond academic and physical education, what adolescent boys (ages 12 to 16) moreover need is training that builds character in performance that is meaningfully resultant. Culturing a youth to be neat and tidy best serves to fostering this as keeping oneself well groomed and smartly attired is essential to ordering the mind and so developing a proper sense of dutifulness as well as self-respect. This centers on the matter of decent dress and appearance, something sorely lacking nowadays with most youths.

Lamentably, today's societal changes in lifestyle and fashion attitudes together with economics, has made boys being dressed in smart looking suits and traditional school uniforms not merely "old-fashioned" but impractical if not unfeasible as well for most people, not to mention unwanted; alas, resulting in this as the norm for boys having become essentially historic. However, a lad's clothing need not be fancy or expensive to fittingly serve in the sense being considered here. Tastefully styled simple and serviceable clothing as apposite and needful will do nicely. Regardless, it is imperative that short pants be a requisite part of all outfits at all times.

Doubtlessly, the idea today of having youths dressed in short pants, as a standard will be regarded with askance as being "eccentric" if not perverse, which is unfortunate since there are actually quite fair reasons confirmed (as previous generations sensibly understood) for their being fundamental in effectively taming a lad to ensure his character development successful.

Foremost, shorts are the most aesthetically pleasing attire on youths, as well as being the most practical, so making one donned in them look perfectly smart and fitting. In addition, there are also the healthful benefits of having the legs exposed to the sun and air. These justifications should be obvious, but how and why shorts serve, as an aid to building their character should be no mystery, either, as it's really quite basic.

Accordingly, keeping one so maintains them keenly aware of themselves and so ever more mindful of their attitude as well as behavior, and reminded of his state by its being made evident; thus serving to instill the docility necessary to achieving a favorable character.

To ensure the affect of this will effect properly and thus be rightly appreciated, the shorts must be "proper shorts" (one's with no more than a two inch inseam) not the awful long baggy style "shorts" of current fad. Short shorts ideally reinforce a youth's self-awareness rightly evocatively affecting, thus they most meaningfully effect inculcating the self-control that results in good comportment.

Steven Lloyd, M.A. I love short shorts,and i hate the fact seemingly that girls' recent indulgence in hotpants seem to be creating a stigma against us boys to wear proper shorts rather than those long baggy stuff.Oh,right feminists say giving women privileges wouldnt take away the men's,and yet here it is,and they dont do anything to address it.I wish all boys and lads would stop being cowards and just wear short shorts out in this hot weather,than let the girls enjoy the exposure while they themselves suffer the heat,while the few of us who have the courage to stick up for our rights gets those stares n offhand remarks.Imagine,girls with leg exposure dont get the stares yet boys with the same leg exposure do.What has the world come to??And why cant working men wear shorts similar in built to those short skirts working women are allowed to?We should actively promote a shorts culture for men in this society

Only those which are deliberately girl-designed,like with laces,flowers,metal studs or skirt-like should be avoided.Otherwise many,like cargo shorts,are actually looking suitable on boys(shorts are after all a boy's article).Preferably is getting those manufacturers to make shorter shorts for guys so those of us with half a sense dont end up having to try those 'tailored' for women.Some can fit but some dont,evidently.I hate their presumption of making only knee length ones for boys,assuming we're all too afraid to show our upper legs even in this heat.We have the right to,one which i dont intend on giving up only to be abused by girls.

It is entirely up to the individual. Everybody has the right to wear what they choose and what they are most comfortable in. In the 21st century, most western societies have come to accept and understnd this trend.
