No, in fact they aren't hard at all!
All you need is some toys, food, water or cat milk, a scratching post and a litterbox.
Most cats are potty trained and they like to eat any time when you are eating.
If your cat if young, get them a toy so they won't get bored (even adult cats love to play with toys!).
They will also need a scratching post or two so that they won't scratch your furniture.
Really it depends on what type of bird you get. Some Birds are much easier to look after then others. If you are buying your first bird you should stick with something simple like a budgie, finch, cockatiel or a small parrot. These are much eaisier and cheaper to look after whereas the big tropical birds can be a challenge. Only get a bird if you are a dedicated person because they do take time and you should research before making your decision as every bird is different!!
Yes and No. You need to clean out their cage once or twice every 2 weeks and make sure they have enuf food and water and that they are healthy

Hard to even guess at answering your question without knowing what country you are in and getting a better description. If you are in North America I would suggest you look to the Warbler species of birds and note the beak shape of the birds in question.

Yes. Penguins are birds, and birds reproduce by laying eggs with hard shells. This is different from the eggs of reptiles and monotremes, which have leathery shells.
All birds have feathers - a beak - no teeth - lay hard shelled eggs
Yes! All invertebrates have hard outer body coverings to keep them in shape. But birds don't have hard outer body coverings. So they are vertebrates!
