Who takes care of the eggs of ants?

to look after ants you will need a ant farm there are many types. ants need a nest area and a area to look for food and water. you can make an ant farm your self with 2 plastic boxes connected with a tube one box for the nest the other for food and water. if you give them these 2 things they will look after them self's. food is easy honey mixed with water socked in a sponge in a bottle cap the same for the water and once in a while a fresh dead insect like a fly or moth/ cricket maggot. just cut it up for them .there are many ant keeping web sites. antstore. ants Canada ants kalytta and many others. DONT KEEP ANTS IN A GELL ANT FARM THE NASA BLUE GEL ANT FARMS. ants hate them they will soon die. these farms are made to keep harvester ants alive for 5/6 days in space. ants will not and can not live in them for very long if you put a queen ant in one she will just sit on the top and wait to die .PLEASE DONT USE ONE.

What should you feed your ants in your ant farm with?

Any ant you choose. I would prefer Black Ants because they are less aggressive. Although, if you like the adrenaline rush you can get: Harvester ants, slavemaker ants (You need another nest for these because they take larva and make them slaves, It also requires frequent larva to maintain itself, thus, i dont recommend them), army ants, fire ants and many many others. If you want a big nest use all of the adrenaline rush ants lol. I SERIOUSLY RECOMMEND BLACK ANTS DONT GET STUCK WITH THE AVERAGE 1 MILLION FIRE ANTS IN YOUR TINY JAR!

How do you cure a red velvet ant bite?

This was found on the Terminix website.... Velvety tree ant colonies in trees may be difficult to control because the nest is located far above the ground. Nests within the wood or voids inside a home require drilling and treatment. These ants may accept sweet liquid or gel ant baits but success will vary. A professional should be consulted when encountering this species. http://www.terminix.com/Information/PestLibrary/Ants/Velvety_Tree_Ant/default.aspx#Tips

Is silica gel harmful to animals?

Silica Gel is mainly used to package products. While it does say not to eat it, it will no do any actual damage. Silica Gel is not toxic, the reason it is labeled "Do Not Eat" is because it is a choking hazard. Silica Gel is safe to be packaged with food, but since it is not food, it should not be eaten.

I have an uncle Milton gel ant farm How come the ants won't tunnel?

It could be due to the temperature, the colder it is, the less they move. Try putting them somewhere warmer. Also keep in mind that this gel is nutrient enriched and if you think about that for a minute......what is really motivating the ants to look for food? Nothing, they are surrounded by it.....hence the reason why I believe they get lazy and show no real initiative anymore.Remember also that this gel/ant experiment was designed by NASA to study microgravity and while I am not totally sold on everything that NASA designs or experiments with..the concept was genius, but now it's just another gimmick to get parents to spend their money on something, when the real study of the ant's should be done with something a lot more similar to their original habitat. I would definitely choose a sand ant farm over a gel one.

Only commercial sanitary pads contain gel. The reason is that the gel acts to hold the menstrual blood in the pad so it can contain more, although the gel may be harmful to health which is one reason why many women refuse to use commercial brands that may use gels like Always or Kotex.
