Pigs are not necessarily fat (although some are), they look large because of the length of their body core and their short legs make them seem like they are fat. Pigs carry alot of meat on their carcass due to the rates that they grow.

No. Pigs are biologically closer to humans than chickens.

The diseases than can affect pigs are closer to those cross species to humans.

Many of the Avian pathogens do not have an effect on a human.

Pigs can be extremely fat. Sows can exceed 1,000 pounds. Occasionally, extremely large pigs are recorded. A wild pig of 1,051 pounds was shot by a hunter recently, and record-setting domestic pig Big Norm weighed in at 1,600 pounds.

Yes, fat pigs are healthy. But if obesity takes over your pig may become blind or deaf, and sometimes permenetly.
