Yes, although the term "Alpha" is outdated and for the most part, erroneous. No pet dog is an "alpha" dog, especially one that is aggressive. Aggression usually stems from fear, protective, from frustration and even misdirected.
Dogs who do not get along with other dogs well or are dog-aggressive can be trained to at least tolerate other dogs for the most part, although there are exceptions. A lot of dog-aggressive dogs are that way due to a negative experience with another dog in the past, and will often become fearful of all dogs as a result. Careful, but positive training can help curb this. Hiring a dog trainer or behaviourist may also help.
If you have a dog that is known to be wary or aggressive to other dogs, never leave that dog unsupervised with other dogs or animals. It has been known for such pet dogs to kill other dogs or even cats while left unattended.
