Can boxer breeds learn not to jump up?

Boxers can be trained not to jump up on people. Dogs should be taken to training groups when they are puppies and are easier to train at this age. Four ways you can stop this bad habit: * Every time your dog jumps up, raise your knee and say 'NO' harshly, but not yelling. When you dog gets the idea and will back off praise them highly. Be consistent with that knee until the dog stops doing it.

* You can also put the flat of your hand out and 'pop' them in the nose (this is not hitting, but a sturdy push on the nose) and say 'No, down!' Keep this up and in a short time the dog will stop jumping.

* While at home and if the dog is greeting you by jumping up have a small spray bottle full of cool water and spray them in the face saying 'No, down!' When the dog backs off then praise your pet.

* Putting a medium sized chain secured inside an empty wax paper tube (or any cardboard tube) and hitting that tube on the side of your legs, on a table or something else (but not hitting the dog) gives off a sharp sound that your dog doesn't like. At the same time 'palm out pushing away from yourself' say, 'No, down!' Then praise your pet after they do as you ask. It doesn't take long to train them.
