Horses do get Bursitis, more often called Tendinitis. But it is not in any way contagious.
It is spread by flies and is a very serious decease. There is no cure and it is highly contagious. That I know of, any horse that contracts the decease is unfortunatly put to sleep.
Seeds of horse gram (Macrotyloma uniflorum) are primarily dispersed by natural means. They can be spread by water, as they may wash away during rainfall or flooding, and by animals, which can carry the seeds on their fur or consume them and later excrete them in different locations. Additionally, human activities, such as agricultural practices, can also contribute to the dispersal of horse gram seeds.
Horse shoe crabs have a total of 10 eyes, which are spread across their bodies. They have two compound eyes on their front shell for detecting light and movement, and several simple eyes on their body and tail for detecting motion and orientation.
Being a Victorian horse poo picker was dirty and challenging work. It involved following horses around city streets, collecting the manure and disposing of it properly. The job was essential for keeping city streets clean and avoiding the spread of diseases.
The "Coggins Test" screens the blood sample for exposure to the virus causing Equine Infections Anemia. This is a serious and often fatal disease that is spread by blood sucking flies. If an affected horse is bitten by such a fly he can then transmit the virus to another nearby horse. Horses that are "Coggins Positive" may not show any signs of clinical disease but act as a reservoir for other flies to bite and thus spread the virus to many other horses. If the horse starts to get sick, the signs of the disease are fever, depression, weight loss, anemia, and dependent edema (stocking up). Most states require that horses moving through the state have a Coggins taken every year - some states are six months, so check with your vet.
