How far away can elephants hear?

The sound structure of elephants is very advanced. See, they can hear infrasound (i think it's called that) which is basically low rumbles that they can somehow send to each other. They can send them over long distances too, kind of like telephone calls. We can't hear them, by the way. Apparently African elephants can also detect the calls and foot stomps of other elephants through underground vibrations.Elephants hear through their ears. Elephants ears have infrasound capabilities for long range communication.

What does an elephant do when it is hungry?

Elephants are very talented believe me :D I love them.... Elephants are the largest land animal alive. Elephants can lift a car with it's trunk. It can also run over enemies and charge at them. But their very loving and can form a bond over you. But elephants in the wild travel far distances for water. It's part of their migration. They care for their young. Guess what?! They can paint beautiful paintings, they cost a fortune!!!

Use Darwin's theory to explain how the trunks of elephants might get longer over many generations?

At one time in history there were elephants with long trunks and elephants with shorter trunks. The long trunks helped those elephants to survive and therefore pass their traits to the next generation.

Do elephants move to places?

Elephants are nomadic and move around lot. They will move around within one area for a while until they have eaten all their favorite foods or until the water dries up. When that happens, they will move to another area. They repeat this pattern over the course of a season. Seasonally, they have regular movements called migrations where they travel over long distances looking for food and water and a more hospitable climate.

Name four animals that have hearing that is different from ours?

Elephants, bottle-nosed dolphins, and humpback whales can hear lower-pitched sounds than humans. Dolphins communicate via clicks and whistles, and whales use low frequency moans or pulse signals. The lower frequencies of elephants allow them to communicate over distances as great as 20 miles or more, depending on weather conditions.
