Yes.It is called egg binding and it is the inability of the hen to pass an egg. The partially developed egg could have either a hard or soft shell, or no shell at all. This inability to pass the egg often results in the death of the hen.
There are ways to help the hen.
Separation from the flock to a quiet area where the bird can concentrate on the job at hand.
Extra calcium in her diet will not affect the offending egg but will help build muscle strength needed to expel the egg.
A water soluble calcium supplement is available.
A small amount of vegetable oil spread around the vent and just inside will help soften the mucus membranes and lubricate.
When the egg comes out of the chickens vent, the farmer licks the egg.
Eggrolls came from southern Asia
Eggs are formed on the ovum of the hen and travel down the oviduct to the vent where they exit the chickens body. This takes a minimum of 24 hours each time. The vent of the chicken is a duel purpose orifice since both eggs and fecal matter are expelled from the same place. The vent is located under the tail of the bird.
The vent is also called the cloaca. The cloaca is the common multi purpose organ for mating, egg laying (hens only) and fecal matter. The vent is located just under the chickens tail feathers. For roosters the cloaca is the site of the internal sexual organ.
if you feed chickens eggs they will start eating there own eggs.
Chickens urinate, defecate and lay eggs all from their vent.
Chickens don't urinate specifically as they only have one opening for waste to be expelled. All waste and the eggs come out of the vent.

NO does kids come out of that hole? NO, same thing with chickens!!

They are from CHICKENS OR HENS because an egg can not produce another egg. (They are hens not chickens.)
Chickens lay eggs like this: Female Chicken meets male chicken. The two chickens express their love and an egg is "planted"in the female chickens bum. Later, she tries to poo, but instead comes out an egg. But seriously, folks: Female chickens (hens) lay eggs, regardless of the presence of a male chicken (rooster). If the avian love making is successful, the egg is fertilized and a chick can develop. Fertilized or not, all eggs are laid the same, through the oviduct. A hen will try to incubate all her eggs--not just the fertilized ones.
A roof vent can be blocked by hoar frost and to illimate this phonimia you need to increase the vent terminal to 4" If a vent terminal is blocked by leaves or other soft debris the water jetting is one of the best ways to clear it
