you should never try that. A cat just naturally does it a few days after it birth. When its about a week and a half, that's when they should be completely open, sometimes it opens even before that. Don't try it, it has to be naturally opened or you could damage the eye because the kittens eyes could still be adjusting.
7-10 days after birth
Newborn kittens generally open their eyes in 10 to 14 days. As far as raising new born kittens the mother generally does all the work. They are very particular about caring for their babies and you shouldn't touch them really at all for about five days at least. This may sound strange but the mother cats take care of their kittens on their own and need little help from humans. They could possibly choose not to care for the kittens if they are bothered to much. Kittens are very delicate and the germs from human hands could cause their eyes to mat up and not ever open. As I said before they are delicate and for the most part your mother cat will know what to do and your kittens should be just fine. Hope this helps.
Kittens are born deaf, toothless and blind. A kitten's eyes usually do not open until five to ten days after birth, but their eyesight only starts to develop when the kittens are a few weeks old.
Shorthairs take 8 to 10 days, Longhairs take 10-14.
Kittens naturally get goop in their eyes; you just need to keep wiping their tear ducts regularly. If the goop seems exessive, take the kittens to a vet.
Kittens' eyes typically open when they are around 7 to 10 days old.

There is no set time as far as I know, but they usually open their eyes within 2 weeks of birth. We had our kittens when they were a week old, and their eyes were closed for a short time longer.

Kittens are born with closed eyes because their eye muscles are not fully developed yet. It takes time for their eyes to mature and be able to open. This is a natural process that allows their eyes to develop properly before they are exposed to light and other stimuli.
Kittens are born with their eyes closed. They gradually open at 7 - 14 days. Their vision gradually improves after that. Never touch kittens eyes.
Kittens are born with their eyes shut and then in a few days start to open them. When they first open their eyes all kittens eye color is blue, during this time yes they are color blind. At a few weeks old the color changes to what ever color eyes your cat will have and that's when they can see in color
