Well, most people like to keep their guinea pigs outside but u should only keep ur guinea pig outside for about 2 to 3 minutes. beware: dont leave a guinea pig unsupervised because if u spray ur yard with ANYTHING BESIDES WATER, it could eat the grass and get VERY sick. Guinea pigs also like the fresh air. Whatever you do, don't leave a guinea pig unsupervised outside or anywhere unless you know that it will be safe.
Of Course they can go out side but only on grass or weeds they don't like concrete or gravel. Then one grass you dont want to have any pesdiside on it or stuff that people come around and spray miscito stuff to where it kills miscitos, the guinea pigs will eat the grass so be carefull. You can also plant your own little playground for them just get some nice soil from a store and some tin fuel and poor some soil on it and add the seeds and then you can add some water and wait for 2 weeks for it to grow.
If you have any questions just e-mail me attwixie435@aol.comThanks good luck.
Yes you can, make sure they have a clean water, bedding and food, and do not place the hutch in direct sunlight, and when it gets cold in winter, bring them inside your home but make sure it is warm in the room. Some guinea pigs can tolerate temperatures down to around 10 or 12 degrees C (50 to 54F) but only if they have warm bedding and are completely shielded from drafts. Ideally the lowest temperature should never be below 18-20C. Maximum temperatures should stay below 28C.
I personally think it is cruel to keep a guinea pig inside. It will be very frightend of the habitat and may even die of heart attack. Guinea pigs are meant to be outside, they were when they were wild. They can also get fresh air and look at the outdoors rather than a bland room. And my guinea pig lives in a 2 storie hutch outside and he is very healthy. I don't like the idea of 3 guinea pigs in a indoor cage. If you buy a strong 2 storie hutch and keep it near grass and away from cats and dogs it will be fine. So please keep your guinea pig OUTSIDE
Yes, as long as it has enough bedding and the hutch is put somwhere warmer in winter.
Guinea Pigs SHOULD Live inside as they need it to be hot and the cold can kill them only on hot days shoudl they go outside but make sure they are kepted in the shade.
of course you can they have special shelters for them and you can have them in cages i guess
You should not keep the cage outside anyway. I suggest getting a new cage and keeping it inside. It may be cold for your guinea pig outside. If you didn't keep the cage outside earwigs would not have got to it.
You should not keep your guinea pig outside in the winter! They're natural climate is not cold and they cannot handle the cold. Your pig probably has a respiratory infection and she needs to see a vet right away. Please, please keep your guinea pig inside, even if it is just in your warm basement. They cannot handle winter weather. put the f%$# guinea pig inside!
Guinea pigs can stay "outside" as long as they have a hutch of cage that is raised off the ground and may provide shelter for them if it starts to rain, ect. If you are choosing to have a pet guinea pig, It is best to keep them inside if you have the time to clean out their cage 2-3 times a week. If your looking for a low maintence pet, you could always keep them outside. This will affect its behaviour, and I reacently had a guinea pig that died of fright from a snake in our yard. Now I keep all my guinea pigs inside.
Yes. They can get bugs, mites or fleas, that's if you keep them dirty or outside while it's Nat season! And never let them get cold! Or overheated! In summer bring a guinea pig's water bottle just in case!
You can't take Guinea Pig's for a walk with leads or anything like that as they are very bad for a Guinea Pig's spine. You are best to either let them go in a run outside or let them out in your house. You are best letting it run in your house, but keep it away from wires and spaces it can hide in. You shouldn't use a guinea pig harness or lead as they can damage their sensitive spines.

Your guinea pig will be totally fine

In winter, your guinea pig should be indoors. Ask someone to help you search for it.
If you have a guinea pig that you keep outside you should keep it in the shade...It should be just fine! although if you keep your guinea pig inside they prefer to be in temperatures from 60-80 degrees Fahrenheit i think they mean IN HEAT as in their periods..... if that's what they mean then KEEP THEM AWAY FROM THE OPPOSITE SEX! source(s) 2 guinea pigs at home named gizmo and alf!
i recomend that you don't
Your male guinea pig is trying to mate with your female guinea pig.
There average lifespan i s 5 to 7 years. The above does not address the question. A guinea pig can live inside its entire life, as long as its cage and surroundings are kept clean. If you live in a cold area, it is better to keep your guinea pig inside as they do not tolerate cold very well. A guinea pig is happier living outside in warm temperate regions of the world. Guinea-pigs are grazing animals, which is why they particularly enjoy grazing on the grass outside.
Really, the best thing for a guinea pig would be to get it a friend, but if you cannot do this for some reason, a mirror attached to the OUTSIDE of the cage will work too. It has to be placed on the outside, unless it has been tested safe for the pigs.
