I have 2 male hamsters in the same cage, they sometimes fight over food. It is alright but they will have small fights and there will be a dominant one and a shy one. The shy one always needs encouragement.
No, it not a good idea to put to male hamsters in the same cage because they will fight over the space
well it depends on the breed of hamster....
teddy bare hamsters-2 MALES will fight till one dies & 2 -FEMALES will not fight they will get along MALE & FEMALE will have baby's
and other types....... well i am not sure but you can look that up on.....petco or petsupplies or pet mart.com you will find the answer more than likely if not you can do other Google searches and find legit answers if not then........go to a local pet store and ask a clerk:)
i hope this helped:)
NO. Definitely not with Syrian/Golden Hamsters, but you may be able to put 2 brothers or 2 sisters in that are dwarf. Don't do it with any other than dwarf hamsters, and DO NOT EVER PUT TOGETHER THE OPPOSITE GENDERS, or you'll find even more hamsters in there.
Hamdoc
it depends are they kind to each other 2 girls should be fine test 2 boys though they might try to see who is dominant
youre not even supposed to put male hamsters together. they end up killing each other. dominance!
It would not be wise because even two hamsters of the same species will fight. I would reccommend keeping each hamster in its own cage.
Yes, since they dwarves, they can live in communities.
No, hamsters are generally strictly solitary. Putting them with another hamster will be stressful, they will fight, and one may be killed.
TWO MALE [BOYS] WOULD BE BETTER IN 1 CAGE THEN TWO GIRLS i no for sure love hamsters
If she does have babies, take the male out so she WON'T eat them. She may get stressed. Also, don't get the baby hamsters out of the cage. They will probably die, and if you put them back in the cage, the mother hamster may eat them. Just watch the baby hamsters and the mother hamster. Hope this helped. DON'T TAKE THE BABIES OUT OF THE CAGE!!!!! With out the mom the babies will die. And if you put the babies back before they die she will eat them. Besure to take the male out yhe cage. If she feels like here babies are indangered she will eat them.good luck.
Okay, Baby syrian Hamsters should be separated in to their own cage at about 3 weeks old otherwise fights will break out between them. (and this goes for male and female). Syrians are solitary animals and prefer being on their own in a cage. The answer to your question is yes and, if your hamsters are syrian, you should separate them soon or some babies may kill the others. Though if your hamsters are dwarf then i don't know sorry :( hope i helped ox
SOME hamsters are, but most of them are not. If you place a hamster inside of an environment with another, they usually do not react very well, resulting in biting and sometimes, death. It is usually a good idea to make sure that if you are going to have hamsters share a cage at ALL, they are both female hamsters. This is because male hamsters are more territorial, which is why they fight so viciously.
Your hamster could eat its babies and then again it might not. You do need to separate the male from the cage because he definitely will eat them. Make sure that you are feeding them the best food possible
There is no such thing as a teddy bear hamster. They are called syrians. There are short-haired and long-haired syrians. There is no significant difference, the same way there is no significant difference between brunettes and red-heads.
They fight for territory
Not if you dont want babies and, if you do seperate the pups, bacause the father hamsters always kill or even eat the pups because he doesnt want them.
Of courswe!
I have two male hamsters they have been in the same cage alone numerous times, and they do not fight ever.
females out. If there is a male in the cage you should get a whole new cage and a male so the two of them can mate. After both of them are done u should take the male out.
my hamsters would eat each other so i don't recommend it
they they can stay with their father
They will do both. Both. They will first mate, and then the female will kill the male.
yes, remove it from the cage and do not feed it to your other hamster
keep putting her and the male in the same cage and then go to the pet shop and go on chat with the shopkeepers and they will tell you if she is pregnant
At 5 weeks old baby hamsters are able to mate. They also become agressive. You need to keep this in mind when deciding whether to keep the male with them.
