A horse is never too old but the older they are the higher chance of death in birth. A horse is never too old but the older they are the higher chance of death in birth.
I think you may be confusing the term "pony" with the term for a baby horse which is a "foal". A pony is actually an entirely different subspecies of equine that is typically smaller than a horse. The gestation length for a horse is 11months, so mathematically a horse can give birth once a year after they have reached puberty which is around 2 years old. They usually are too old to carry a foal when they have reached the age of 20. So, mathematically a horse could have around 18 foals during her lifetime. However, most mares that are used only for breeding have around 10 - 15 foals during their life.
when your horse is ready, if the horse is green broke at 4, then give them a year, and you should never start backing a horse (training to saddle) before the age of 3 b/c they haven't developed enough
A male horse under four years old is a Colt. A male horse over four years old is a Stallion. A male horse that is castrated is a Gelding no matter how old it is. A female horse under four years old is a Filly. A female horse over four years is a Mare.
when a horse is full grown it is 5- 6 years old

The Kentucky Derby is a horse race, you would win it on a horse, specifically a three year old Thoroughbred.
Yes. A "mare" is the term used for a female horse (equine) of or over the age of 3 or 4 years old.
Any horse under one year old is called a foal. However, foals are commonly referred to as colts or fillies from the time of birth, (foaling). After the age of twelve months the horse is called a yearling.Between one and four years old a male horse is called a colt, while a female is called a filly. After four, the male (if ungelded) is called a stallion; if castrated he's called a gelding. The female after four is called a mare.
It depends on his height.
I think that horse years and people years are the same but I might be wrong
He would be around 20 years old.
