Beagle's are a type of hound, and hounds are bred to hunt small animals (like guinea pigs). Although it is entirely possible that they could get along quite well, I would recommend supervising them whenever they are around each other. If you want to get them used to each other, do so slowly in a quiet space and don't let either animal get too excited. There should be two people on hand to supervise and give praise to both animals.
