Typically the Pembroke Welsh Corgi is a vocal breed. They were bred to be herding dogs on farms and needed to bark to get all the livestock going in one direction. They were also supposed to be watch dogs to warn the farmers of predators. Because the breed is so smart, they tend to only bark when their supposed to; if someone knocks on the door, right when someone new comes in the house, when they are herding or playing, etc. They also have other styles of barks depending on what they are trying to communicate to you, such as a low pitched "i need to go outside" bark, and the high pitched "someone is outside you better go check it out bark". They typically are not nuisance barkers like any of the small Terrier breeds (Yorkshire, Cairn, West Highland, White, Fox). A lot of it depends on the dog itself and how fulfilled the dog is with its physical and mental needs. If you exercise your dog, provide it with some mental stimulation, and give your dog the attention it needs, it will not be a problem at all. The Corgi is a great breed.
Miniature Corgis are the same as Corgis but are of a smaller size. Miniature Corgis are puppies born with a defect that makes them smaller, which puts them at risk for several health problems.
Pembroke Welsh Corgis do NOT have tails. Cardigan Corgis DO have tails. yes they do!!! they don't but they had bushy tails!!! :) there your answer
Queen Elizabeth II has Welsh Corgis for pets.
Answer Queen Elizabeth is famous for keeping Corgis.
Pembrokes have no tails or really short tails, stubby legs, are longer than Cardigans, have a wider face, and are generally more outgoing. The Pembroke is usually the dog one pictures when they think of a Corgi. Cardigans have long and fluffy tails, longer legs than the Pembroke, are a bit bigger, more 'regal' looking, have a more narrow or wedge-shaped face, and are generally more reserved.
