Hi, one of my pet finches in an aviary has over the last few weeks began to peck all over the floor most of the day. The floor is yellow sand and of course seeds dropped from the feeding trays. It is most unusual as he always flew away when I approached the cage, now he is totally preoccupied with whatever he is pecking at. There have been ants, but I can't see any at the moment. He ignores all the other birds whereas he was always bossy. Can you help us please? Thank you so much

A bird can live in a bird box or a burrow underground.
they do not eat from the bird feeder, coss you mite not have wild finch food, you can got it from any pet shop!
Birds love to eat ants, and other insects and Spiders. Also, ants and termites are natural enemies, so they will eat each other. Garden snakes will eat ants and bugs too.
Considering ants can't really be domesticated, yes. Just get a ready-made container from a pet store or toy store.
Ants are not pets; you cannot keep them as pets.

There are many pet stores that supply finches. You can try Googling pet shops in your area that supply finches, or go to your local pet store and inquire. If they don't have finches, they might be able to tell you about a place that does.

When owning ants, you have pets, not just a pet. If you want a pet get one.
No. They require ants primarily, but will eat beetles or grasshoppers if nothing else.

FINCHES will eat a type of seed called WILD FINCH BLEND wich can be bought at any pet store, target or walmart. FINCHES can also eat spray millet, parakeet mix, finch mix, Japanese millet, green spray millet , and game bird crumbles.
if they are wild flying around other birds will attract them. i used to catch wild African ringneck parakeets(similar to parrots) by putting food on top of our aviary and a trap. They come down to socialize and eat and bam! More birds in my aviary!Treats if its your pet and they don't like you.

No. You can find a queen in the spring when ants swarm .
Ants are omnivores, meaning that they get there nutrients from both plant and animal sources. Different species will eat different things, but many ants will eat all manner of edible things, including scraps of food we leave behind.
