Pugs are really awsome dogs if you prefer a quieter companion. I live in an apartment, and one of the things I really like about my pug is that she doesn't bark or make a lot of noise. She snorts, sneezes and snores. There is one thing I don't like though and that is that pugs will shed, all year long! It's horrible if you don't maintain everyday.
