I have a uromastyx lizard, There really fun to watch and they make good pets. They take a little time to tame but there not aggressive in anyway (there just a bit skittish and a little shy). They don't bite and they can become quite tame after regular handling.
There very easy to keep! They generally eat salad - being 95% herbivorous and 5% insectivorous, fresh salad is needed everyday - And twice weekly vitamin suppliment should be added to food for growth and vitamins.
Ideal salad :
- Florette Crispy Salad
OR
- Italian Salad
Other food which can also be used is:
- Lentils (twice weekly)
Below are all foods which you can use along side Florette /Italian salad -Amount depending on how many uromastyx you have:
- Lambs lettuce
- Brittish wattercress
- Wild rocket
- Clover
- Broccoli
- Peas
- Sweetcorn
- Finely grated Carrot
A small handfull of Florette/Italian Salad with a little bit of the obove if you want to add a variety for your uromastyx diet.
Heating:
These guys like it hot!
- Ambient temperature of at least 90 F .
- With a basking temperature between 110 - 120 F.
- Night time - 70 - 75 F
ULTRAVIOLET LIGHT IS ESSENTIAL FOR THIS SPECIES, AS IT IS NEEDED TO HELP METABOLISE CALCIUM FROM ITS DIET. WITHOUT THIS THE LIZARD WILL DEVELOPE METABOLIC BONE DISEASE AND THIS WILL RESULT IN DEATH.
- A UV tube at least half the length of the vivarium is required to allow multiple basking areas. Repti-glo 10% tubes are required. The lizard needs to be able to get within 6 - 8 inches to gain full effects.

All of the Spiny-tailed lizards belong to the genus Uromastyx.
Weasels are known for their aggressive and territorial behavior in the wild, so they are not considered to be particularly nice animals. However, domesticated ferrets, which are related to weasels, can make affectionate and playful pets if they are properly cared for and trained.
A uromastyx is a lizard with a spiky tail, a flattened body, and a robust build. They have scales in various shades of brown, yellow, orange, or red, and some species may have patterns or markings. Their heads are slightly triangular and they have round, protruding eyes.

This is just me, but cats are nice because they are stoic and dignified. They are nice because they are so supple and soft. They are nice because they are always honest about their feelings. They are nice because they know what they want to do which isn't exactly what YOU want them to do.
The smallest species of uromastyx is the Uromastyx ornata, also known as the Ornate Uromastyx. They typically grow to around 8-10 inches in length as adults.
Uromastyx geyri was created in 1922.
Uromastyx Spinipe are vertebrate. Phyla: Chordata Class of organism: Reptilla Kingdom: Animalia Uromastyx Spinipe are in the Agamidae family. Uromastyx Spinipe live in dry rocky areas.
There are multiple species of Uromastyx (approximately 15) with the Mali Uromastyx being the most common type that is distributed in pet stores.
I would not say they are useful. But they make nice pets.
It's nice to have a couple of each.
North Africa. There are a huge variety of species ranging from the sometimes 3 foot Egyptian Uromastyx to the small, scarlet red to golden yellow Saharan Uromastyx.
It's spelled Mali Uromastyx because they come from Mali, which is a North African country.
Very nice, and fabulous pets!!

A pug can be for a girl or a boy as long as they are nice to it and take care of it! They make great pets!
they are docile and make good pets but are not for everyone. Some girls think they look too much like mice or rats.
