A fish breathes by bringing water into its mouth and forcing it out through its gills. This causes the dissolved oxygen to reach the blood and enter the fish's cells.
There are many different types of animals that live in water. Some of them like dolphins, whales and frogs are not able to actually breathe under water. Fish and other aquatic animals however have gills that filter the oxygen out of the water.
Oxygen is dissolved in the water much the same way carbon dioxide is dissolved in your soda. Most sea creatures have gills that can extract that dissolved oxygen as the water passes over them.
Gorillas are the only animal in the world that can not swim. This is due to their low center of gravity.
That really depends on the breed, age, weight, and health of the two animals. Most likely a dog would swim better due to it having paws and a more rudder like tail than a horse would.
Some public pools have special days when they let dogs in to swim, see link below for details. The Dormont public pool is one such place in Pittsburgh. If you are teaching a pup to swim, remember to kit him out with a tiny puppy life jacket for safety and go gently at first.
That is not true. My dog was bred with dogs that loved to swim, and he hates it, we can only get him one inch in the water! Don't believe those people, they aren't correct. If you want him to swim, take him to a dog friendly area with water, or set up a baby pool in your backyard. Anywhere that has a little water and is quiet is a good way to take him out of his scaredness. If you hold him in the water (or try to, if he is a big dog) he should be much more comtfrable in the water, also try keeping his leash on. You can also take private swimming lessons for him. I hope this helps!
The word for swim for a fish is "swim." Fish swim by moving their bodies and fins to propel themselves through the water.

The Cheagle dog breed can swim. In fact, all dog breeds can naturally swim. There are some dogs, however, that are better adept in the water than other breeds. For example: Golden Retrievers can swim better in the water than larger St. Bernards.
No, dogs cannot swim in Nintendogs. There is a scenery that is beach themed, that you can purchase, and would make someone think that the dog could swim around there. But it can't, unfortunately.
