yes lettuce and apple give diarea to guinea pigs but some types of apple are okay for some, though i don't risk it. There are also other foods that have the same effect.
Feeding iceberg lettuce to guinea pigs is not recommended as it has very low nutritional value and can cause digestive issues such as diarrhea. It is better to offer a variety of other leafy greens and vegetables that are more nutritious and safer for your guinea pig to eat.
Guinea pigs can eat a variety of vegetables, including bell peppers, cucumbers, carrots, and leafy greens like kale or romaine lettuce. It's important to introduce new vegetables gradually to avoid upsetting their stomachs, and to always wash the vegetables thoroughly before offering them to your guinea pig.
Well You Shouldn't Because They Can Not Eat Any Dairy Products And Cheese Is A Dairy Product But You Could Give Them Romaine Lettuce And Celery Ill Prefer You'll Give Them That Instead. Those Are The Best Vegetables You Should Give Them.
Some guinea pigs are allergic to some foods, however guinea pigs as a species are not particularly allergic to anything.
yes, guinea pigs can have apples.... but not too much. if you try to give them apples and they won't eat it don't feed it to them anymore. also NEVER feed them seeds...it might be better just to not give them apples just to be careful.

Apple seeds are not poisonous to guinea pigs. I give apples with the seeds in to my guinea pigs everyday. However one must be careful as guinea pigs can choke easily on apple seeds. Please NEVER give guinea pigs ANY type of seeds because thy can choke on them. If you have been giving them seeds and nothing has happened that doesn't mean seeds are safe, it means you guinea pig has been very lucky. Ask any exotic or cavy savy vet.
No. If eaten they might give a stomach ache and diarea though.
Peanuts, any nut product, apple, DO NOT GIVE THEM LETTUCE some types they will have a reaction. and also carrots.
They NEED guinea pig food daily, but they do enjoy fruit and veggies and need those leafy greens! You can give apples, tomatoes, AND iceburg lettuce to guinea pigs. Apples have Vit. C and they are a nice treat. But the veg/fruit that has the most Vit. C is red/green/yellow pepper and guinea pigs love it and gobble it up! Tomatoes are fine i feed my guinea pigs tomatoes, but it's up to you. Iceburg lettuce is like hay for a horse. It's filling his stomach. Iceburg lettuce you can infact feed to guinea pigs......It has little vitamins but they can have it. ^^
Guinea Pigs are only allergic to one thing- lettuce if you feed them a couple pieces it wont hurt but too much they can die. NEVER EVER feed them ICEBURG LETTUCE not even one piece.
you should feed guinea pigs pellets and lucerine (i don't know how to spell it) they should always have pellets in their bowl and should have their old lucerine replaced by new lucerine each day. they should also be given greens like cucumber, buck choy, ect, and carrots, tomato, ect. never feed your guinea pigs lettuce, unless it is cos lettuce, and only a little bit at that. any other lettuce or even too much cos lettuce can make them sick, give them diarrhea and maybe even kill them! me and family learned that the hard way when we were still new breeders. hope i helped. :)
Whatever you do resist the temptation to feed it alot of lettuce or any other fruits and vegetables. It will get severe diarrhea which can be fatal. There is no reason a domestic guinea pig would get scurvy. Stick with feeding it pellet food and give it lettuce once a week.
