Well, you have to give your pets time to get use to one anouther they probley have not seen any thing like it before. You need to start kepping them inthe same room so that they will get time to know one anouther then they will be use to one anouther and no more running around the house like mad. So follow the tip i am sure it will work.
** Never put a kitten in the same room unattended with a dog. The dogs instinct is to chase anything that runs. This will endanger the kitten. You need to hold the kitten while the dog is in the same room and make sure the dog will not harm the cat. You do not push the kitten on the dog but let them sit quietly with you in the room. A little closer and longer each day and they will get used to each other with your support.
When your introducing a kitten to the dog (or the other way around) Don't put them inside the same room. you should block the room with something that they could see through and put them in separate sides so they could look at each other and you should just give them time to get use to seeing each other and eventually they might become friends
If the cat has lived in one place mainly her whole life and the dog is new it might take a while for the cat to get used to the dog But most likely the cat will ignore the dog if the dog wont bother her That's what it was like for my 6yr old cat and our stray dog
Your new cat is hiding in the laundry room because it is afraid, apprehensive, and not used to its new home. You basically need to make it feel at home, like feeding it, cuddling it, and talking to it.
Get them when they are tiny. they will make friends, so then they will be friends all their life. Its like there is 2 kittens or 2 puppies! It's advisable to get the kitten first; because it's smaller and less powerful than the puppy, it's good to let it claim its territory - your house - before the pup arrives; this will allow the cat to feel more confident around the dog.
It's possible for your cat to stop hissing over time as they adjust to the presence of the new cat. Try providing separate spaces, resources, and positive associations to help them feel more comfortable. If the hissing persists, consider consulting a vet or animal behaviorist for guidance.
There is no exact number, but despite common stereotypes, many cats and dogs get along beautifully, I have seen them snuggle up together at night. When introducing a new cat/dog into a home with a cat/dog keep the new animal in a separate, closed off room for a few days until it adjusts to it's new environment. Then keep both animals on a leash, and let them meet. A vet told me if introducing a cat into a home with a dog, to put the dog in it's crate and let the cat walk around it.
Yes there is going to be a new Cheeky the Cat Webkinz. His name is called Bubblegum Cheeky the Cat. But there is not a new Cheeky the Dog.
poison the cat then tell them you need a dog
yes
it takes about a couple of weeks or maybe months
you should stop the cat and get the dog and put it up in its cage, and if you don't have a cage you can lock it up somewhere. The cat is feeling threatened that the dog is invading it territory, so it is urine marking to "clarify" those boundaries. You must isolate the animals from each other so that the cat can get used to your new dog. This may take a few weeks to as long as four months, depending on the cat. Introducing a new animal to a household that already has pets can be very challenging.
DOG system!
Most likely will be upset. The dog is going to have to figure out where the cat is in the "pack" and may want to dominate it. If it's a puppy or young dog, it will want to play, and the cat may just want to be left alone. Provide a place for your cat to get away to when it doesn't want to be bothered.
If the cat grew up seeing a small amount of people and is used to you, this is normal. Get the cat used to new people by easing them towards the people. Make sure the people don't make the cat uncomfortable for any reason.
Yes, it is perfectly normal for your other pets to be acting strange around this new kitten. They are just not used to him/her yet. And I'm sure your cat wont hate you. :) If he does, well then he is just a snobby cat!
