First find a safe place to put your guinea pig where it can't get into anything bad. Then take the cage and empty the bedding out and wash the empty cage with a hose. After that you should dry it with a clean towel, then clean out the food bowl with water, put fresh bedding and fresh food in it and you are done! (make sure u do this once a week)
First you take the guinea pig out and place it in a safe area and make sure someone is watching it. Then take out top of cage. Remove everything inside of cage and spray down with 1/2 of vinegar and 1/2 of water. Spray down toys and food bowls and anything else in the cage. Put in new bedding and put in new food and replace anything else in the cage. Put the guinea pig in and your done. Do this weekly. And make sure you take out bedding where your pet has done it's business daily and replace it with fresh bedding.
It is recommended to spot clean your guinea pig's cage daily to remove any droppings or soiled bedding. A thorough cleaning of the entire cage should be done at least once a week to maintain a clean and healthy environment for your guinea pig.
If i were you i would get a big cage so the guinea pig can run around Good luck with your piggie I have a big cage that holds 2 guinea pigs and they chase each other around the whole cage!!!
If the cage is too small take it back and get a new one! Never get anything hamster for a guinea pig. If you have a small cage then that means you got a hamster cage.
It depends how many guinea pigs you have. If you have 1 or 2 then I would recommend that you clean the hutch once a week. If you have more than three guinea pigs then you will have to clean it out pretty often!
The only thing that you can really do to keep a guinea pig clean is to clean out its cage and bedding very frequently (once a week at least). Bathing rodents can cause injury or death to the animal, and scents such as perfumes contain harmful chemicals. Cedar woodchips produce a great smell for the cage if changed regularly.
I try to clean my guinea pig's cage around once a week or when it looks dirty.
Yes because there is the after birth from the guinea pig
once a week
Simply put, you don't. You can put the guinea pig in another cage in the meantime though, or hand it to someone for a cuddle.
Then, you have to hand tame your guinea pig. You have to take him out of his cage to clean it, and he has to get treated for mite or he will die. So you have to just take him out and play with him all the time.
The best way to clean a guinea pig cage is with water only. Using anything else may be harmful to your pet. If water alone doesn't work, then it is time to buy a new cage. I got my last cage here http://www.petproductsbyroyal.com/rabbit-guinea-pig/ and love it!
It depends how frequently you clean your cavy cage if you dont it will smell like Guinea pig! Hoped I helped $)
Of course it's fine! You just need to clean out the cage more often.

just clean it out like a smart person!
This is not really a custom cage, but a cage with homemade penthouse on the top. http://www.guinea-pig-paradise.com/homemade-guinea-pig-cages.html
Actually, it depends on the guinea pig you have. If he/she has a bad bladder, it's going to smell pretty bad. And, if you have a small cage, it'll get real messy real fast. If you scrub the cage down real good when you clean it, it should be fine for a while. Try to clean the cage when it first starts to smell and the smell shouldn't be there. Sometimes, the guinea pig is the one who smells bad.
