You wash your pony with a soft sponge , sweat scraper and hose.
Get some horse shampoo from your local store and gently massage it all over the pony's body with the sponge and do not get it in their eyes or nose or mouth, then hose down the pony still don't get them in the eyes, mouth or nose then scrape off the excess water with the sweat scraper and brush the tail and mane. if it is in the summer let your pony dry off but if it is in spring, autmn or winter put a rug over its back and put a tail bandage on and put it in its stable
Generally just wipe it with a damp paper towel or a baby wipe. If there's an excessive amount of guck... so its running down their face, and keeps coming back after you clean it... it may be a sign of infection.
I mainly use a small sponge dampened with warm water and lighly rub their nose to remove all grime and dirt. On the other hand you can use baby whipes or a special "Eye and muzzle" horse whipe to remove any dirt too.
Remember to always be gentle though
