@ things to do #1 Deworm the horse with a full dose of Ivermectin or Modectin dewormer. #2 go to local farm or garden store and buy the 'Sevin" dust for use on animals. Dust the affected and surrounding areas liberally and do not wash off for at least 5 days.
There are several ways to get rid of mites in a horses feathers.
1. Wash the horses legs with a mite treatment shampoo. You may have to get this from a veterinarian depending on where you live.
2. Apply a mite powder to dry legs, making sure you rub it in to the skin.
3. You may have to shave the feathers and follow the above steps.
Either way you will need to do one or more of the above things. Also you should comb through the feathers daily to help disturb the mites and pull the eggs out off of the hairs. You can use a flea comb or lice comb for this purpose. You should also strip and burn the bedding from your horses stall or run-in and the bedding of the horses around him. Once this is done disinfect the stalls or housing area and apply either a spray or powder designed to kill mites. You should also wash the horses grooming gear in the same solution to prevent re-infestation.
no they can not
It is a messy proposition, but you can smother the little buggers with petroleum jelly or shortening. You can at least get rid of the live bugs. As for their eggs, I don't know how to get rid of the nits.
The best way for me was mayo... put it in your hair your hair MUST be dry and leave it in you're hair for an hour and a half and then take it out with really hot water and then comb your hair with a lice comb (you can get them at drugstores) do this for the next 2-3 days until the lice is gone. good luck
i dont know how to get rid of lice in your nose but......if their all the way up there then you must be one dirty little boy/girl!! lol jkjkjkjkjk!!
Head lice and pubic lice are two different species of lice, I don't know if it's impossible to spread it, it would however be very hard for the head lice or louse to survive
Mites (mange) and lice will need some help to get rid of them Sunlight alone generally will NOT get rid of these ectoparasites.
exposure to other infested horses. lice are usually species specific, i.e. bird lice cannot pass to horses, etc. Debilitated animals are more suseptible to lice. Multible treatments are required to rid the animal of lice, as nits may hatch after initial treatment. Oral ivermectin (wormer) may also be helpful.
they usually got rid of lice by shaving their heads

Yes you can... the lice then have no where to hide and eventually fall out.
You can use the shampoos for head lice even when you are pregnant.

Lindane 1% shampoo or pyrethrin with peperonyl butoxide shampoo can be used to get rid of pubic lice.
