Bees can be a big problem in some parts of the country. Please do NOT use any type of oil because if the hummingbirds brush against it the oil will get on their feathers and can cause health issues. You must start with a feeder that is specifically designed and advertised to be bee-proof. Then take care when making nectar to not make it too sweet. For hummingbirds a 4-1 ratio is good, too sweet will attract more bees than birds. Then after hanging clean off drips or spills, I like to spray them off with water from a spray bottle. Any little drip or spill will attract some bees. That should do it, but if not, hang another feeder nearby (not too close) containing a much sweeter mixture and the bees will move to that feeder leaving yours to the birds. Not really. Most likely when the orioles come the hummingbirds will fly away. However, when the oriole leaves the hummingbirds will return again. If the hummingbirds do not return put up a oriole feeder that should keep it away from the hummingbird feeder.
To keep mourning doves away from a bird feeder with safflower seeds, you can try using a feeder with smaller openings that only allow smaller birds to access the seeds. Another option is to place the feeder in a more enclosed space or add a baffle to the feeder pole to deter larger birds like mourning doves. Finally, offering a separate feeder with seeds specifically tailored for mourning doves may help attract them away from the safflower seed feeder.

To prevent your cat from chasing bees, you can try keeping your cat indoors when bees are present in your yard. You can also distract your cat with toys or interactive play to redirect their attention away from the bees. Additionally, you can plant bee-friendly plants away from your cat's play area to attract bees away from where your cat likes to roam.
While some dogs may try to catch and play with bees, they do not typically eat them because bees have stingers that can hurt the dog's mouth. In general, it's best to keep dogs away from bees to prevent any potential stings or reactions.

I heard that if you put a banana skin near a hummingbird feeder that they will dine on the fruit flies.
Using olive oil on a hummingbird feeder to repel bees can harm hummingbirds. The oil can coat their feathers, affecting their ability to fly and stay warm. Additionally, it may contaminate the nectar, making it unsafe for the birds to consume. It's best to use bee guards or other safe methods to keep bees away without risking the health of hummingbirds.
To attract hummingbirds to your garden with a feeder while preventing bees, choose a feeder with bee guards or built-in ant moats. Place the feeder in a shaded area away from bee-attracting flowers and keep it clean to avoid attracting bees with spilled nectar. Use a nectar mixture with a higher concentration of water to deter bees, as they are more attracted to sweeter solutions.
No. But humming birds have to eat every few minutes or they will get tired and can't fly.

Is it the type with liquid in it? if not switch to that, if they still come find where they're coming from and use ant poison. If you already have one with liquid, just find where they're coming from and use ant poison.
