yes vomited and diarrhea are actually commonly caused by separation anxiety, its often because your dog will not eat, or eat things that it isn't supposed to. When the owner is not around, a dog with separation anxiety is usually chewing, digging and destroying household objects, behaviors which can result in self-injury. Vomiting and diarrhea are the consequences of eating things and different objects.

You can't make a dog stop being scared. What you can do is help the dog learn to be more comfortable around things that are scary to her/him. You do this by desensitizing and counter conditioning the dog around the things (triggers) that bother it. You need to keep the dog below or near its threshold for its tolerance of its triggers. It's a slow process and in some cases a dog can never become totally comfortable around things that scare it.
Keep your things in a place where the dog can not get them. This dog may need training.
