Do you know the source of the Allergies? Is it food you are giving him/her. If so, you need to change the food to something that will not make your dog sick or cause allergic reactions. Are you using toxic household cleaners; ammonia, pine solvents, camphors (like moth balls) Mr. Clean, etc. Animals can have severe allergic reactions to these and other household cleaners. Do you have a mold issue in your home or ventilation systems. Steroid shots can damage kidney function and make allergies worse. The can also cause damage to the immune system. Check The Physicians Desk reference under steroids, prednesone, cortizone and look up the side effects. You need to find the source of the allergies , whether they are food or environmental and remove and/or eliminate them for your dog's health. You can also give him/her acupuncture.
