Cytokinesis is the division in two of the cytoplasm. It occurs near or after the end of nuclear division.

In animals, the cell membrane folds in all around the cell. From the outside, the cell looks like a half-deflated balloon that has an invisible thread looped around it; as cytokinesis proceeds the thread is increasingly tightened (a "cleavage furrow" appears as the cell is "pinched" in two from the outer edges). Really, the tightening is by protein fibers of the cytoskeleton, orientated in various directions just below the cell membrane.

Plant cells cannot go through the same process, as the cell wall prevents changes to the cell's shape. Instead, the Golgi body manufactures a cell plate (middle lamella) of vesicles in a plane between the two daughter-nuclei. This plate spreads out from the center of the cell, eventually abutting against the cell membrane all round the cell in that plane. The cell then lays down a cell wall, replacing callose with cellulose and pectin.

cytokinesis in plant cells are different because a cell plate forms in the middle of the cell and it becomes the cell membrane that will seperate the two new cells:]

How does cytokinesis ina male differ from that in a human female?

The process of cytokinesis is the same in both males and females. Cytokinesis refers to division of cytoplasm. Cytokinesis occurs at the end of mitosis and meiosis.

No! They have similar function

Animals can walk while plants cannot but plants can also move but not in locomotion they can only bent or creep in search of sunlight.

How do animals and plants differ in the way that they get energy?

Animals eat meat or plants for energy and plants go through process called Photosynthesis which makes sugar for the plant to eat.

Protists do not have specialized tissues.

What are the two differences in mitosis and cytokinesis between animal and plant cells?

Plant cells do not have centrioles, whereas animal cells do. Plant cells form a cell plate between the two newly forming cells during cytokinesis, along which the cell wall will form, whereas animal cells do not.

What is the difference between cytokinesis in plant animal cell?

In plants cytokinesis occurs by the formation of cell plate which takes place by centrifugal method while in animals it occurs by the formation of cleavage furrow which takes place by centripetal method.
