Depends on the elephant! Tiger's generally avoid adult elephants, but will sometimes kill baby elephants. No. An elephant has thick hide to protect from claws, teeth, horns, and hooves, and an elephant would crush the tiger to death with its foot.

This dream brings to mind the expression, "he bit off more than he could chew," which means that one took on more work (or whatever) than one could manage. An old joke expresses a similar sentiment: "How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time!" The dream conveys the same idea, that the dreamer has "too much on his/her plate," or much more than he/she can manage. The "elephant" might represent too much work, too much ambition, or even an unmanageable relationship.
