IN THE WILD THEY EAT INSECTS SUCH AS MOSQUITO LARVA, WORMS FLIES, AND OTHER INSECTS. USE A LOW LEVEL LIGHT BECAUSE THEY ARE USUALLY FOUND IN A MERKEY TYPE WATER. if you do these small things for your fish you will double theri live span and be more lively in general. i have had the same 3 bettas for 5 years and their still healthy and kicking. one is a crowntail and the other two are half moons.
