Okay, so ~300 people a year are killed by Tigers (India). ~50,000 a year are killed by Snake Bites -- mostly Cobra's (guess where?). ~2 million people a year die from Malaria, which they get from a Mosquito. In the year 2000 there were 79 shark attacks reported, 16 of them fatal. Minimally 60,000 die from rabid dogs a year. And here are some others: Ants: 200 Flys: 300 Bees: 400 Elephants: 600 Horses: 1000 (50,000 hospital visits in US per year) Crocodiles: 2000 Scorpions: 5000 (1000 in Mexico alone)

There has been many crew members that have died from sharks. There are actually rowing members. Well anyway to answer your question there has been 249 shark atacks in the last 100 years well hopefully i have answerd you question.
It depends on what year. For example, there have been 1,159 reported crocodile attacks on humans since 2010, and many other attacks go unreported.
This is difficult to answer because it is so subjective, but many might say that it was following the sinking of the USS Indianapolis in July, 1945. Over 500 sailors made it off the ship, but died in the following days from exposure, drowning, and shark attacks. It is unknown exactly how many died from shark attacks.
About 2,800 people died.
In total 3,497 people died in the attacks on 11 September 2001. 2,740 Americans Died in the September 11 attacks.

As of my last update in October 2023, there have been relatively few fatal shark attacks in Hawaii, with the total number of confirmed deaths being around 10 since 1828. The state averages about one shark attack per year, with fatalities being quite rare. Most encounters result in non-fatal injuries, and Hawaii remains a popular destination for ocean activities despite the risks.
People died.
