Was told that the Australian Shepherds were listed as one of the smartest dogs is this true?

From what I see posted on the internet, they are not one of the smartest. I have owned several of them and many other breeds of dogs that are listed as smarter. I have found through personal experience that an Australian Shepherd is smarter than any dog EXCEPT a border collie. Don't know why I feel this way, but they seem more responsive than Australian Shepherds. However, Australian Shepherds seem to have more of a personality, which I prefer.

How long does a Australian sherpard carries her litter?

Do Australian shepards have tails?

Australian Shepherds can be born with either a naturally long tail, a naturally bobbed tail, or no tail at all (naturally tailless). Tail docking is discouraged or banned in many countries, so it is best to check with a reputable breeder to see what type of tail a specific Australian Shepherd may have.

What dog breeds are good for agility Not what they need to be agility dogs But good breeds for agility?

Herding breeds such as Australian Shepherds, Border Collies, Corgis, Australian Kelpies, Queensland Heelers, Australian Cattle Dogs, Shetland Sheepdogs, and others have a *tendency* to have the traits that make good agility dogs: Eagerness to work, agility, speed, trainability. However, not all dogs of these breeds necessarily have these traits, and there are many other breeds where some or many of the individual dogs might have these traits. For example, many Papillons are amazing at agility, and so are some Poodles (of all sizes). Other working breeds might have some or all of those traits, such as Dobermans, Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers, Chesapeake bay retrievers, Springer Spaniels, and many others. Don't just get a dog for agility though, you need to be able to love it, even if it turns out hating agility. I have a dog agility course myself and a doberman she is still young so you must be very patient with your dog while doing the course.
