It depends on whether you are feeding it to butcher, breading sow, or bore. If you are feeding the pig to butcher you want to feed it protein pellets. Which cost at present 14.00 pr 100 lbs. They will eat approx. 2 gal per day.
If you are raising a breading pig you don't want them to get fat so 1 gal per day would be sufficient.
Here in Washington state it is $14 per 50# or all breed @ just under $10 per 50# which is 2% less protein as of today 5/6/2011 as I just bought both an hour or two ago. I do agree with the amounts he says to feed tho. I personally also feed my pigs Boiled Eggs about a half dozen 2 times a day with their feed and I wet it down and soak up to a paste my pigs seem to like it better that way On cold days or colder mornings I will use hot water on a hot day i use cold water they love it! ope this answers your Question! Good Luck !! I personally love to farm ! I believe everyone that has the property to do so Should as well Much better tasting Cheaper and small farm can supply at least 3 large Families with good quality Meats and eggs Produce whatever but sure would help world hunger! Quit eating FEEDLOT Meats And EGGS! Good Luck America!!
On average, a guinea pig may cost around $30-$50 per month to maintain, including bedding, food, hay, and occasional treats. Initial setup costs for cages, water bottles, and other accessories can range from $100-$200. High-quality food, bedding, and other supplies may cost a bit more but provide better care for your pet.

it depends if your getting a pet pig or a show pig? for start you need a good habitat because pig need there space! but a show pig 200-400 for a start cause if its your first time you need to keep it cheap cause for a year it will cost you up to 600-800$ . but a pet pig will cost 50-100$ at-least and over a life time you would pay more for it than a show pig up to 7000-10000$ a year so be smart when you pick your pig and have fun!!!
A pig is a consumer in the food chain or food web.
