∙ 15y agoBiologically, the dog must be old enough to have had its first heat cycle, which usually occurs somewhere between 6 and 9 months of age. For the mother's health, it is best to wait until a dog is 3 years old before breeding her, so that HER body is completely grown and ready to support the growth of puppies.
