If your snake is hibernating, it will still be moving slowly, and breathing.
If your snake is dead, it will most likely not be moving, and it won't be breathing. However, some dead snakes will still bite and twitch a little after they die. This will usually last for a few minutes.
we can identify a living thing by observing its breathing, and it's body temperature, living things does not rot like the dead ones.
If its breathing its most likly alive

I have worked in the Veterinarian field for over 3 years now. You can take a dead animal to a Vet for disposal, cremation, or even if you would like to have an autopsy done. Naturally all of these options you usually have to pay for. Some states it is illegal to bury an animal in your yard. I would check on that. But what they don't know won't hurt them. You do not HAVE to take a dead animal to a Vet. Hope this helps. ~Ciao Bonnie in Oregon
Yes. A tiger can be eaten as soon as another consumer ( animal that eats another animal) figures out that its dead. An example of a consumer that would eat the tiger that is dead is a bird that all people may know from Africa, and that bird is the vulture. The vulture will eat almost any dead animal that is seen in its way.
