No. Once the hamster gets to know you he will no longer bite. Hamsters usually bite when they are young and nervous. They need to acclimate themselves to you.

It depends on how bad the bites are. If they are very bad, yes, it may help prevent bad damage from an infected bite. if it isn't bad, just be cautious when you hold her.
