Tigers have been endangered since the British colonised India and began hunting them as trophies.

This was compounded by the spread of human activity into the wild areas where tigers have traidtionally lived... as agriculture spread out into former jungle territory.

Well in 1987 according to the biological statistics of Australlian Universty of Denwo which recorded the rate in which tigers were being reproduced had dropped drastically. They had proved that in Australlia the tiger had begun to be on the endangered species list by 1989. Also due to the illegal poachery in Australlia the tiger were put on the endangered species list.

In 1959 and that is only the Siberian tiger when all tiger species became endangered, that was in the 1970's.

There used to be 9 species of tiger but there are only six remaining(Amur, Malayman, South China, Indo-Chinese, Royal Bengal, and the Sumatran). The three that are extinct are the Bali tiger, the Javan tiger and the Caspian tiger.

There used to be as many as 100,000 tigers in the world 100 years ago but there are only about 3,200 left in the world now which means we need to act fast, you could even adopt a tiger or join a zoo or sanctuary for tigers
