A pig-eyed shark, also known as a sixgill shark, has a broad, blunt head with small eyes positioned high on the sides of its head. The Matawan Maneater, was a great white shark which during the summer of 1916, attacked numerous people, killing several. The attacks occurred along the length of the New Jersey shoreline, prompting a shark hunt. The shark believed to be responsible for the attacks was caught and killed, near Matawan New Jersey where the final shark attacks took place. On autopsy, human remains were found within the shark, though none of the remains corresponded to the victims of the attacks, leading many to speculate there was more than one shark involved, though the shark attacks ceased after the one shark was caught. The short answer: Dead.
A tiger becomes a man-eater when it starts hunting and consuming humans as prey. This behavior can be triggered by factors such as scarcity of natural prey, old age, or injury that impairs the tiger's ability to hunt its usual prey. Additionally, tigers that have learned to associate humans with easy meals may also become man-eaters.

The old name used historically was actually the 'man-eater' shark. The confusion is some other shark species are referred to as a man eater at various times. However the white shark was actually called the 'man-eater shark'. This name was felt to give them a bad image, and many others felt was undeserved. So it started being referred to as the great shark, great white shark, and great blue shark. Great white is the one that appears to have stuck.
